DOVER, Del. - After leading the Wesley College Football team to their sixth consecutive win and earning New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week honors, junior quarterback Nick Falkenberg was named Wolverine of the Week.
Falkenberg completed 16-for-26 pass attempts, throwing for 311 yards and four touchdowns, reaching career-highs in both categories. The junior quarterback also rushed for 44 yards on seven carries and a rushing score as well.
The Lawrenceville, N.J. native led Wesley to a 44-27 win over No. 18 Salisbury University in a must-win NJAC battle. With the victory, the Wolverines extended their winning streak to six games and set themselves up for a shot at clinching at least a share of the NJAC Championship.
The Wolverines take on William Paterson on Saturday, November 12 in their regular season finale. A win would guarantee the Wolverines at least a share of the NJAC crown and the conference's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament. Kickoff for Saturday is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
