DOVER, Del. - After propelling the Wesley College Football team to a 63-9 victory over New Jersey Athletic Conference foe Southern Virginia University, Jamar Baynard was named Wolverine of the Week.
Baynard rushed for 162 yards on 18 touches, averaging 9.0 yards per carry, and caught one pass for nine yards as well. The senior running back ran for five touchdowns on Saturday, tying a Wesley College program record. Baynard's five scores tie Brandon Steinheim (v. Salisbury, 1996) as the most by any Wesley running back in a single game. The mark also ties the most rushing scores by any Division III athlete in a single game this season.
Baynard and the Wolverines will return to action on October 8 when they host The College of New Jersey as part of Homecoming Weekend.
