The Wesley College athletic training room got a much needed face lift thanks in part to a generous gift by Dr. and Mrs. Mattern and Mr. William Strickland.
The funding paved the way for renovations that nearly doubled the amount of space available to the athletic training staff. Changes to the training room include a new whirlpool room containing two whirlpools with custom wrap around deck, additional seating and an additional room for the hot packs, laundry and sink.
"The changes to the training room allow us to provide better care for the student-athletes, and ultimately this project was for them and the future student-athletes that attend Wesley College," said Chad Kragh, Director of Sports Medicine. "I can't say enough about the support we have received, not just from the Dover community but from the administration. We now have a place where athletes want to come and that makes our job much easier."
A dedication ceremony was held in the training room on April 20.
