Tom Mullaney is entering his fourth season on the staff of the Wesley College men’s basketball program in 2018-19.

A native of Cumberland, Md., Tom Mullaney is passionate about basketball and even more passionate about helping young athletes prepare for life after basketball. His work, on and off the court, has contributed to Wesley’s 11 continuous years of CAC Championship Tournament appearances.  Coach Mullaney has played a role in scouting, recruiting, scheduling, team travel arrangements, player evaluations, and team analytics.  During practices, he has focused on the development of Wesley’s centers and forwards.  Coach Mullaney has been very involved in various fundraisers to support team travel and to supplement the team with meals during school holidays. 

Coach Mullaney is honored to be part of Coach Burrows’ staff.  His commitment to the goals that Coach Burrows has for the men’s basketball program is unwavering.  Coach Mullaney hopes to help the men’s basketball program reach its full potential on the court, in the classroom and in the community.     

Prior to joining the Wesley staff, Coach Mullaney was a Varsity Assistant for three years to Coach Burrows at Saint Thomas More in Magnolia, Del.  While at Saint Thomas More, Coach Mullaney was instrumental in helping to raise more than $40,000 for the athletic programs, including the refurbishing of the gymnasium floor and financing a 2010 trip to Atlanta to participate in a holiday basketball tournament.  For many years, Coach Mullaney was a youth basketball coach in the CYO Program at Holy Cross Parish in Dover, as well as a baseball coach in the Dover Little League.

Coach Mullaney graduated from Park College with a Bachelor of Science in Human Resources and Management.  He retired with the rank of Master Sergeant after 20 years of dedicated service in the United States Air Force.  He is currently a Manager with the Delaware Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) Program in Dover.  He and his wife, Terry, reside in Camden and are the proud parents of two daughters, Meghan and Lauren.
