YORK, Pa. - The Capital Athletic Conference announced their All-Academic Team for the 2015-16 school year on Thursday. The list featured 85 Wesley College student-athletes earning All-Academic honors.
Student-athletes in one or more CAC championship sports that attain a 3.20 grade point average for the academic year earn a spot on the All-Academic team.
The Wesley College Field Hockey and Women's Soccer teams topped the list of All-Academic representatives, with 13 members from each squad earning the honor. Softball and Women's Track and Field each had 10 student-athletes earn the recognition while Men's Lacrosse led all male athletic teams with 10 members receiving the accolade. Men's Soccer received nine All-Academic nods while Men's Track and Field garnered six.
12 of Wesley's CAC All-Academic Team award winners not only earned an outstanding GPA in both semesters during the 2015-16 academic year but also played multiple sports, with a handful competing in three sport seasons.
85 of Wesley's 270 eligible student-athletes reached CAC All-Academic status, marking 31.5% of Wesley student-athletes earning the honor.
As a conference, the CAC honored a record 1,384 student-athletes, breaking last year's mark of 1,356. The 1,384 honorees marks the fifth time in CAC history that over 1,000 student-athletes have earned All-Academic recognition.
