DOVER, Del. - The Wesley College Athletic department is in mourning over the demise of a Wesley College Men's Lacrosse Alumni. Scott Brozey, 27, passed away following a tragic traffic accident in Florida on Sept. 30. Brozey was a Cape Henlopen High School graduate and a native of Lewes, Del.
Brozey scored 34 goals and dished out 16 assists in two season with the Wolverines. He was named Capital Athletic Conference Player of the Week once during his senior season. His freshman and sophomore seasons were played at Delaware Tech where he scored 91 goals and recorded nine assists in two seasons.
Scott is survived by his wife, Evgeniia Shipilina of Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. He is also survived by his grandparents, William and Carol Brozey, brothers Mark and Justin Brozey, and many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be held later in the month with a Celebration of Life at 10 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 29, at Eagles Nest Fellowship Church, 26633 Zion Church Road, Milton, Del. A reception will be held immediately following in the church hall.
All lacrosse friends and former teammates are welcome to participate in a pickup lacrosse game at Hudson Fields, Milton, from 2 to 4 p.m. Friends and teammates are encouraged to honor Scott Brozey's memory by playing the game he loved and sharing fellowship with his teammates from Cape Henlopen High School, Del Tech, Wesley College and The Starboard team.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Dan Cook/Scott Brozey Fund at County Bank, 1609 Savannah Road, Lewes, DE 19958. A scholarship fund in Scott's name is being set up through Cape Henlopen High School. The fund will be dedicated to helping lacrosse players with college expenses.
