Dover, Del. - The Wesley College Athletic Department hires Jim Purtill as the the new Offensive Coordinator under Head Coach Chip Knapp.
Coach Purtill is a football coaching veteran who has experienced a wide range of experiences at all levels of the collegiate game. He has enjoyed most of his career coaching in the Midwestern and Eastern parts of the country.
Purtill was born, raised and educated in the state of Ohio. He graduated from Miami University, Ohio with a Bachelor's Degree in Education and received his Master's Degree from Salem College, WV.
In 1996, he was selected as the National Offensive Coordinator of the Year at Albion College. Over a 21 year period, the offensive units at Albion, St. Norbert and UW-Oshkosh averaged 36 points per game (ppg). He has had eight Conference Offensive Player of the Year selections during his coaching career.
A few of his success' as a head coach include, being the winningest coach in St. Norbert College history with a 130-30 record. In 2009, Purtill was Inducted into the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Hall of Fame and as of 2013, he posted five Midwest Conference career coaching records. In 2016, he ranked 50th on the list of Winningest Coaches in college football history (DI, DII & DIII).
