Morlock Named Wolverine Captain

DOVER, Del. - Senior Grant Morlock (Bel Air, Md./Fallston) has been selected as Wesley College's baseball team captain for 2010.
A three year starter, Morlock posted perhaps his best season as a junior. He finished in the top 10 in the CAC in seven different offensive categories: batting average (ninth, .367), slugging (eighth, .605), on-base percentage (third, .492), runs (fifth, 51), homers (tied for sixth, six), walks (second, 33) and stolen bases (eighth, 14). Wesley's starting third baseman led the team in both walks and on base and tied for the team lead in home runs and extra base hits (20).
Head Coach Tripp Keister expects more of the same in 2010.
"Grant has been a big part of Wesley Baseball these last three years and I am proud to have him as the captain for the 2010 Wesley Baseball team," he stated. "He has been a leader both on and off the field since he arrived at Wesley and he will play an integral role in our upcoming season."
For his career, Morlock is a .334 hitter with 25 doubles, eight triples, eight home runs, 91 runs batted and 37 stolen bases. He also has a .494 slugging percentage and .448 on base percentage. Morlock rates among the all-time leaders at Wesley in games played, runs, hits, RBIs, doubles, triples, stolen bases and walks.
Last season, Wesley finished 26-17-1 and finished as the runner up in the ECAC South Championships.
