Wesley Swept by York (Pa.)

DOVER, Del. - York (Pa.) swept a Capital Athletic Conference doubleheader from Wesley, 20-0 and 7-3.

In the opener, the Spartans (4-6, 2-3 CAC) scored multiple runs in each of the first four innings.  York hit five total home runs in the game and pulled away for the lopsided victory.

Jason Christenberry tossed five shutout innings, striking out seven.  Rob Klinck went 5-for-6 to lead an Spartan offense the wrapped out 19 hits in the game.

Geoff Kimmel (Lawrenceville, N.J./Lawrence) and Steven Jacobs (Aston, Pa./Garnet Valley) had two hits apiece for the Wolverines (5-6, 2-3 CAC).

The second game saw the CT Stanley hit his second home run of the day after going deep in the opener as well to give York a 3-0 lead after the first inning.  After another York run in the third, Wesley answered with an RBI single by Tyler Burns (Dover, Del./Dover) to cut the lead to 4-1.

The Spartans scored single runs in each of the last three innings before Wesley threatened in the bottom of the seventh.  Rob Benedict (Drexel Hill, Pa./Monsignor Bonner) drove in a pair of runs with a single down the right field line.  Trailing 7-3 Wesley loaded the bases before York's KC Beshore induced a ground out to end the game.

Bryan Reshetar (Newark, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) had two hits for the Wolverines.  Michael Bazoge (Medford, N.Y./Patchogue-Medford) took the loss.

Stanley led a trio of Spartans with two hits apiece.  Andy Rosenzweig notched the win with six innings of five hit ball.

Wesley is back in action on March 17 when they travel to Mary Washington.
