YORK, Pa. – Wesley College's Eric Speidel has been named the Capital Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week, it was announced by the league office on Monday afternoon. This is the first time that Speidel has been recognized by the CAC for a weekly award.
A junior from Lawrenceville, N.J., Speidel led the Wolverines to a 2-1 week, batting .538 with two RBIs, four runs scored and four stolen bases. In Wesley's season finale, an 8-6 over Widener, Speidel went 4-for-5 with an RBI, a run scored and a walk.
Speidel finished the season batting .319 with three home runs, all of which led off the game, and ten RBIs from the leadoff spot in the order. Speidel also led the Wolverines with 20 walks while stealing 13 bases to rank second on the squad.
