DOVER, Del. – 27 runs and 34 hits were totaled in a long three and a half hour contest on Thursday between the Wesley College baseball team and the Susquehanna River Hawks but the River Hawks came back to down the Wolverines 17-10.
Wesley tallied 19 hits in the loss. Trey Mears, Mike Calvarese, Edward Hogan and Aaron Briggs each recorded three hits for the Wolverines. Mears drove in three runs and scored three times including a two-run home run in the second inning. Calvarese scored twice and knocked in a run while Briggs added two RBI to his stat line.
The Wolverines (16-12, 8-8 CAC) will look to improve their playoff seeding on Saturday, April 15 as they head to Arlington, Va. to take on the Marymount (Va.) Saints in a doubleheader. First pitch is scheduled for noon.
