The Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Co-Player of the Year, Mears was named to the All-South Region First Team. Mears led the CAC in batting average (.500), runs batted in (54), stolen bases (41), on-base percentage (.568) and slugging percentage (.772). He also ranked second in hits (68), runs scored (56) and total bases (105). As of the latest NCAA stat report, Mears leads the nation in batting average, runs per game (1.65), RBIs per game (1.59) and stolen bases per game (1.21). Mears also knocked seven home runs with 14 doubles on the year. Mears reached base in all 34 games and registered a hit in 30 of Wesley's 34 games. He was a two-time Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference South and CAC Player of the Week and twice on the D3baseball.com Team of the Week in 2017.
Seibert earned a spot on the All-South Region Second Team. Seibert tallied 24 extra-base hits in 2017, which was tied for the best in the CAC. Seibert also ranked second in the conference in batting average (.411), RBI (53) and slugging percentage (.716) and tied for second in in home runs (9). Seibert was an All-CAC First Team honoree in 2017 and received CAC Player of the Week laurels on April 10.
It is the sixth year that D3baseball.com has named All-Region teams with over 800 players nominated. The ballot was then made available to SIDs, who voted for a predetermined number of players in their region, as well as D3baseball.com staff and contributors.
