Baseball drops conference opener to St. Mary’s (Md.)

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College baseball team dropped their Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) opener, 9-4 to the St. Mary's (Md.) Seahawks on Monday.

Michael Piccirillo paced the offense with three hits in five at-bats. He drove in a run in the ninth inning with an RBI single to right field.

Chris Seibert, William Foster, Jordan Marucci and Jarrett Wallace each collected two hits for the Wolverines. Seibert, Marucci and Wallace drove in runs in the loss.

Ryan Devine and Cody Simet pitched the final four innings scoreless in relief of Sam Meck.

The Wolverines (6-7, 0-1 CAC) have a quick turnaround as they step out of CAC play to face the Washington Shoremen tomorrow at 3:30 p.m.
