Baseball upended by unbeaten Stockton

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College baseball team dropped a non-conference contest to the Stockton Ospreys, 18-12 at home on Tuesday.

Wesley pushed a majority of their runs across in the middle innings and had a late surge in the seventh inning but it wouldn't be enough as Stockton would remain unbeaten on the year.

Jordan Marucci paced Wesley with four RBIs including belting his first collegiate home run with a three-run shot over the left field wall in the bottom of the third inning. Alexander Weber tallied three hits in four plate appearances and knocked in three runs on a couple of RBI singles and was able to score William Foster on a groundout. Weber also scored two runs.

Dustin Sutton went 3-for-5 with two RBIs on a two-run double in the bottom of the seventh.  William Musser also drove in two runs by way of a two-RBI double in the bottom of the fourth inning.

Foster and Kyle Schneider both registered multi-hit performances in the loss.

Joe Pipher led Stockton with four RBIs.

Wesley will host the Cabrini Cavaliers in an Atlantic East Conference doubleheader on Saturday, Mar. 23. First pitch is scheduled for 12 p.m.
