Baseball fights tough in conference opening double header
ASTON, Pa. - In two back and forth games with conference foe Neumann University the Wesley Baseball team dropped both games in the double header 6-7. Justin Blunt crossed the plate first for the Wolverines off the rbi from Dustin Sutton. In the fifth inning Alex Weber had a solo shot to tighten the score 2-3. A Wolverines rally in the 7th saw them take the lead in the top of the inning off the swings of Jason Boc and Sutton. Neumann put their own rally together in that same inning finalizing game one 6-7. Cole Davis worked the first five innings of the game fanning 12.
 
In the second game of the day Alex Weber once again came through while at bat picking up the first hit of the game. Jacob Meisel scored on a error giving the Wolverines their only run until the 6th inning. In the 6th they rallied for three runs tightening the lead 4-5. In the 7th inning the Wolverines tied the game up 6-6 off a Darin Matthew double. In the bottom of the 7th Neumann strung just enough together to plate a run once again ending the game 6-7.
 
The Wolverines will return to the field Monday for the final game of the Neumann series at home.
