Trey Mears enters his first season as an assistant coach for the Wesley baseball team in 2018.

Mears is coming off one of the best seasons in Wesley baseball history. In 2017, he was named a First Team All-America honoree by the American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA)/Rawlings and D3baseball.com, the Eastern Collegiate Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III South Player of the Year and Capital Athletic Conference (CAC) Player of the Year accolades. Mears was tops in the nation in runs per game (1.65), runs batted in per game (1.59) and stolen bases per game (1.21) while tying for the national lead in batting average (.500).

Mears led the CAC in batting average (.500), runs batted in (54), stolen bases (41), on-base percentage (.568) and slugging percentage (.772) He also ranked second in hits (68), runs scored (56) and total bases (105).

A three-time All-CAC player, including a first-team nod in 2017 and CAC Rookie of the Year honors in 2013, Mears finished his Wesley career with the most doubles all-time (46), tied for most career hits (222) and stolen bases (103).
