Cheerleading
Wesley Cheer is a co-ed team. The cheerleaders perform at all Wolverine home football games and home basketball games, including sideline and halftime shows. Their primary mission is to get the crowd involved for a true home court/field advantage. A secondary goal of the program is to compete annually in at least one cheerleading competition. The team does stunting, tumbling, dances, cheers and jumps.
The aspiration of the Wesley College cheer team is to encourage excellent sportsmanship and to provide spirit and pride during athletic performances. The team also promotes the values of and represents Wesley College at all times. A high level of commitment to the team and the College is expected. It is also necessary to remain in good academic standing at Wesley. We want you to do well and will help you in attaining that goal.
All members of the cheer team are required to maintain a minimum of a 2.0 GPA. Once a cheerleader falls below a 2.0 GPA, he/she will be placed on academic probation with the team and will be required to attend mandatory study hall hours established by the coach. Wesley cheerleaders are also expected to uphold the guidelines and polices of the student handbook for the College.
