Robinson Named AFCA All-American

Robinson Named AFCA All-American - Dec 11, 2007

WACO, Texas - Wesley College's Bryan Robinson was named to the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA) All-American team, announced December 11.

Robinson is a four-time first team All-ACFC selection and a two-time ACFC Defensive Player of the Year from Harrington, Delaware.

The senior defensive end capped a stellar career in 2007.  The Harrington, Delaware native set the Wesley career record for sacks and finished with 47 and had 92.5 career tackles for loss, also a school standard.  He was second on the team with 88 tackles and paced the conference with 28 tackles for loss and 11 sacks.

It is the third straight year a Wolverine has made the team.  Mario Harris was chosen in both 2005 and 2006.  A school may only be represented by one player per year by the AFCA.

Overall, it is the seventh time a Wesley player has made the team.  In addition to Robinson and Harris, Jason Visconti (2001), Sean McCullin (1998), Nate Casella (1997) and Demetrius Stevenson (1996) have also been honored.

The AFCA has selected an All-America team since 1945 and currently selects teams in all five of its divisions. The teams are selected in voting by the AFCA membership.

Wesley won its third straight ACFC Championship in 2007 and advanced as far as the NCAA Division III Quartfinals before finishing the season with a record of 11-2.
