INDIANAPOLIS - Wesley College was awarded the top overall seed in the NCAA Division III Football Championships.
The Wolverines will host a familiar postseason foe in the first round when Centennial Conference Champion Muhlenberg visits Dover on November 20. Wesley has squared off with the Mules twice in the NCAAs, with the Wolverines coming out on top in both 2007 and 2008.
In addition to Wesley, St. Thomas (Minn.), Mount Union and North Central also received top seeds in their brackets. Defending national champion Wisconsin-Whitewater was given the two-seed in the North Central bracket.
The winner of the Wesley/Muhlenberg match up will face the winner of the Hampden-Sydney/Montclair State contest. The bottom half of the Wesley bracket features a game between Thomas More and Washington & Lee and another between Mary Hardin-Baylor and Christopher Newport.
The winner of the Wesley bracket lines up with the winner of North Central's in the national semifinals. The winners of the Mount Union and St. Thomas regionals will play in the other. The two semifinal victors will then travel to Salem, Virginia for the Amos Alonzo Stagg Bowl on December 18.
