GRANBURY, TEXAS – Wesley College senior Marcus Wilson (Pennsauken, N.J./Camden Catholic) has been selected to play for Team Stars & Stripes in the 2010 Tazón de Estrellas (Bowl of the Stars) on Saturday, December 18 at the Tec de Monterrey Stadium in Toluca, Mexico.
The squad will face the CONADEIP All-Stars from Mexico.
Wilson is the seventh Wolverine in program history selected to the Tazón de Estrellas or its predecessor, the Aztec Bowl.
A team captain, Wilson moved to corner this season after playing safety the last two years. The transition was flawless as he tied the school season record with seven interceptions, including three returned for touchdowns. Wilson intercepted passes in five straight games to end the regular season. In his career, he now has 12 picks in his two-plus years as a Wolverine, fifth on the school's career leaderboard.
Wilson has helped lead the Wolverines to a 12-0 record as Wesley has advanced to the national semifinals for the second straight year. The Wolverines host the defending national champions from Wisconsin-Whitewater on December 11 at noon.
In the event Wesley should advance to the Stagg Bowl, the Division III National Championship game, Wilson would head to Salem, Virginia with his Wolverine teammates for that contest.
