Mayes Earns More All-America Hardware

DOVER, Del. – Defensive End Chris Mayes (Waldorf, Md./Westlake H.S.) was named a First Team member of the Associated Press Little All-America Team, it was announced.  The AP Little All-America team is comprised of players from Divisions II, III and the NAIA.

A second team selection last year, Mayes is just the second Wolverine to be named a repeat AP Little All-American (Rocky Myers in 2003-04).  Earlier this season, Mayes was named a First Team All-American by D3football.com and the American Football Coaches Association.

Mayes generated a team-high 20.5 tackles for loss and three forced fumbles in just 11 games this season.  Missing the last two games with an injury, Mayes also tallied seven sacks to finish second on the team and 48 tackles.

Wesley College's football team finished the 2011 season at 12-2 and went to its fifth NCAA Division III Semifinal in the last seven years.
