Football Ranked 4th in Both Polls Heading into Homecoming Weekend

WACO, Texas –Wesley College's football team is ranked fourth by both the American Football Coaches Association and D3football.com in their latest Top 25 Polls that were released on Monday.  The top five in both polls are identical with Wisconsin-Whitewater holding the top spot, followed by Mary Hardin-Baylor, Mount Union, the Wolverines and Linfield.

Nearly the entire top ten is the same in both polls with the exception being at the six and seven spots.  St. John Fisher is ranked sixth in the AFCA followed by John Carroll at seven and the teams are flipped in the Media Poll.  Wartburg, Hobart and Johns Hopkins round out the top ten.

The Wolverines (4-0), who are coming off a 47-7 win over Southern Virginia last weekend, host Louisiana College (2-2) on Saturday, October 4 in a 1 pm kickoff at Scott D. Miller Stadium.  The Wildcats are receiving votes in the Coaches Poll.

As part of the Homecoming festivities, 13 newly inducted Hall of Famers will be introduced at halftime including former Gagliardi Trophy winner Rocky Myers and former Football All-Americans Jeremy Jordan, Jimmy Kostack and Mike Simpson.
