DOVER, Del. - Wesley College Football team captain and linebacker Samer Manna was named New Jersey Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Week on Sunday after leading the Wolverines to a 43-7 victory over Frostburg State in their conference opener.
In a contest in which the Wolverine defense held Frostburg to only 240 total yards of offense, Manna tallied a game-high 12 tackles, including 1.5 tackles for a loss. He also registered a sack to help propel Wesley to its first win of the season. Manna currently leads the Wolverines and the NJAC in tackles with 11.5 per game.
Manna and the Wolverines will return to action on Saturday, Sept. 17 when they travel to the Virginia Coast to take on Christopher Newport in another NJAC contest.
