DANBURY, Conn. - After leading the Wesley College Football team to a dominating 63-9 victory over Southern Virginia University on Saturday afternoon, the Wolverine running back tandem of Jamar Baynard and E.J. Lee earned ECAC Weekly Honors.
Baynard was named ECAC Player of the Week tying the Wesley program record for single-game touchdowns during the Wolverines' 63-9 NJAC road win. In the victory, he averaged 9.0 yards per carry, finishing the contest with 162 yards on just 18 carries along with five rushing touchdowns. His five scoring runs tied a Wesley record which had stood for 10 seasons.
Lee earned ECAC Rookie of the Week averaging 6.5 yards per carry, with a career-high 91 yards on 14 attempts with two rushing touchdowns. He also contributed in the passing game with a 29-yard receiving touchdown out of the backfield. Lee finished the game with 119 total yards of offense and three total scores.
Wesley will return to action on October 8 when they host NJAC rival The College of New Jersey as part of Homecoming Weekend. Kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 p.m.
