Wolverines Moving Along One Game at a Time

DOVER, Del. - The Wolverines have won four straight, but the team hasn't lost its focus. The squad has continued to take each game as it comes under the mantra "One Game at a Time."

This week the squad will face off against Montclair State University in yet another New Jersey Athletic Conference clash.

The Red Hawks are tough. Like the Wolverines, they've knocked off Rowan and gave Christopher Newport a fit, falling 28-21 to the Captains in overtime. If the Wolverines are caught looking ahead to next week, or have any sort of hangover from the Rowan win, they could be in for a long weekend.

Wesley brings in the NJAC's top passing attack, throwing for 258.9 yards per game. Dan Kesack has been able to connect with receivers Bryce Shade and Alex Kemp as well as a solid supporting cast to move the Navy and White through the air.

The Wolverines' run game is nothing to mess with either as Jamar Baynard's smash mouth running style has been complemented nicely by the slash and dash of E.J. Lee. The Wolverines rank second in the conference in rushing attack behind Salisbury's triple option scheme.

The Red Hawks have won games this season with their defense. Montclair State has limited opponents to just under 300 yards of offense per game, ranking fourth in the NJAC. They have the conference's best pass defense, keeping opponents at just 127 yards per game. They also lead the conference in turnover margin at +8.

Montclair has struggled offensively though, averaging just 19.7 points per game. Their rushing attack ranks fifth at 136 yards per game while their passing game is seventh in the conference at 131.4 yards per game.

With the Red Hawks' touted pass defense, look for a steady dose of Jamar Baynard. With three rushing touchdowns, the senior running back would become the Wolverines' all-time leader in the category. He enters the game with 43 career rushing scores.

On defense, Samer Manna and reigning NJAC Defensive Player of the Week Ben Robinson will be called upon in the linebacking corps to lead the team and stop the Red Hawk offense.
Wesley and Montclair State are scheduled to kickoff at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
