DOVER, Del. - On Thursday afternoon it was announced that Wesley College Football offensive lineman Blake Roberts was named to the College Sports Information Directors Association (CoSIDA) Academic All-District Team. The 2016 CoSIDA Academic All-District™ Teams recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances athletically and in the classroom.
The Wolverine junior earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors by accumulating a career 3.33 GPA in Wesley College's rigorous nursing program. He is the second Wolverine in as many seasons to earn the distinction. Last year, Wesley quarterback Joe Callahan was named Academic All-District.
Blake has stepped into a starting role in his junior season at offensive guard, helping to pave the way for the Wesley offense. This season the Wolverine offense has averaged 37.2 points per game, while rushing for an average of 191.5 yards per game and passing for 259.9 yards per game for a sum of 451.4 yards of total offense per game. Roberts and the offensive line have helped the Wolverines maintain one of the nation's most prolific offensive attacks, helping them to a 6-2 record this season. Roberts was one of only five NJAC student-athletes to receive the honor in NCAA Division III District II.
