DOVER, Del. - Nick Falkenberg hit career-highs in passing yards and passing touchdowns while leading the Wesley College Football team to a 44-27 victory over No. 18 Salisbury on Saturday. In recognition of his accomplishments, Falkenberg was named New Jersey Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
Falkenberg becomes the second different Wolverine to earn NJAC Offensive Player of the Week honors after leading Wesley to it sixth consecutive conference victory, a key 44-27 NJAC road win at No. 18 Salisbury. He completed 16-of-26 passes for a career-high 311 yards and four passing touchdowns. His performance marked just the third time this season that an NJAC quarterback has thrown for four passing touchdowns in a game. Falkenberg currently ranks fourth in the NJAC in pass efficiency (135.5).
The Wolverines move to 7-2 on the season, improving to 7-1 in the NJAC and holding a tie with Frostburg State for first place. Wesley will take on William Paterson on Saturday, November 12 where a win would grant the Wolverines the NJAC's automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament.
