DOVER, Del. - After leading the Wesley College Football team to a 44-27 victory over No. 18 Salisbury in a crucial New Jersey Athletic Conference clash, senior linebacker Roderick Caine was named to the D3football.com Team of the Week.
Caine was essential in helping the Wolverines shut down the Salisbury triple option run game. He made five total tackles, and finished with a sack, two forced fumbles, and two fumble recoveries. Caine popped the football loose on a big hit in the backfield in the second quarter for his first forced fumble, and then recorded a strip sack later in the game, falling on the ball and sealing the win.
Caine and the Wolverines now have a chance to lock up at least a share of the NJAC title and the program's first automatic qualifying bid to the NCAA Tournament with a victory on Saturday. Wesley has made 11 straight NCAA Tournament appearances, but all have been at-large bids. The Wolverines square off with William Paterson on Saturday, November 12 at 1:00 p.m.
