NEWARK, Del. – Graduating Wesley College running back Jamar Baynard showed off his talents to National Football League scouts at the University of Delaware's Pro Day on Thursday.
Baynard participated in several drills including the 40-yard dash, bench press, three-cone drill and several other combine drills in front of scouts representing 13 NFL teams.
"It was such a blessing to even be able to participate in an NFL Pro Day," Baynard stated. "I gave it everything I had so I'm just hoping for an opportunity somewhere in the future."
A Townsend, Del. native, Baynard is tops in career scoring, rushing attempts, rushing touchdowns and total touchdowns in Wesley football history. Baynard has accumulated 5,499 yards of total offense and 59 touchdowns. Baynard was a D3football.com All-Region selection in 2016 and a two-time All-New Jersey Athletic Conference First Team honoree.
Baynard looks to follow in the footsteps of fellow Wesley alumnus Joe Callahan and several other NFL players with Division III backgrounds including Ali Marpet and Pierre Garcon.
Baynard will continue his preparation in hopes to sign on with a NFL team's camp.
