PITMAN, N.J. – Senior wide receiver James Okike and freshman defensive end Stefon Woodruff earned New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Week awards for their performance in No. 13/13 Wesley's 30-20 win over No. 25 Salisbury on Saturday to clinch a spot in the NCAA Tournament for the 13th consecutive year and at least a share of the NJAC Championship.
Okike was named the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week. He finished the contest with six receptions for 164 yards and a pair of receiving touchdowns. He produced TD catches of 40 and 72 yards apiece. Okike currently leads the NJAC in receiving yards per game (83.1).
Woodruff picked up the NJAC Defensive Rookie of the Week for the fourth time this season. In the first Route 13 rivalry game of his collegiate career, Woodruff secured 11 tackles, including six solo stops, 2.5 tackles for a loss, and 1.0 sack. He also forced a fumble and blocked a kick to help Wesley remain as the only unbeaten team in conference play. Woodruff currently leads the NJAC in sacks (11.0).
