DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College football team finished up their spring schedule with their annual spring game held at Drass Field at Scott D. Miller Stadium on Sunday.

The game featured special teams drills, a lineman challenge and a 7-on-7 scrimmage between the offense and the defense.

Following the scrimmage head coach Mike Drass named the Most Outstanding Spring Players and the captains for the 2018 season.

Sophomore wide receiver Kianta Thompson and sophomore Jason Stewart were selected as the Most Outstanding Spring Players.

"Both (Kianta and Jason) had great springs and I look to them having success in the fall," said Drass.

Drass later named five captains for the 2018 season. Captains for the upcoming season are senior safety Cappadonna Miller, senior tight end Andrew Eagle, senior offensive tackle Devin Miller, senior defensive end Vincent Ebron and junior running back E.J. Lee.

"We had a number of players to choose from who stepped up in leadership roles in the spring and narrowing it down to these five young men was very difficult. We believe these captains will be great leaders for our team."

The Wesley College football team will open the 2018 season at home against the Delaware Valley Aggies under the lights at Drass Field on Friday, August 31 at 6 p.m.
