PITMAN, N.J. – Wesley College senior quarterback Khaaliq Burroughs and freshman running back Xavier Drummond were named New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Players of the Week for their performances in seventh-ranked Wesley's 62-0 win on Friday over TCNJ.
Burroughs was named NJAC Offensive Player of the Week after going 17-of-22 in passing for 259 yards, three touchdowns, and an interception in the first half. Two of his touchdowns were in the first quarter, as he found teammate Alex Kemp with a 41-yard pass at 12:11 and a short 7-yard shot to Kemp at 5:30. He completed a 38-yard touchdown pass to Corterris Simpson at 6:35 in the second quarter. Burroughs leads the NJAC in pass efficiency (211.8) and ranks second in total offense (276.0 yards/game).
Drummond picked up NJAC Offensive Rookie of the Week honors after rushing for 116 yards, including an 86-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter for his first career points. His 86-yard run currently stands as the longest rush from scrimmage by an NJAC player this season. Drummond currently ranks second in the NJAC in rushing (116.0 yards per game). With his 116 yards, Drummond catapulted up to second among all NJAC players in rushing, eighth in total offense, and ninth in all-purpose yards.
