PITMAN, N.J. – Three Wesley College football players picked up New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) Player of the Week honors for their performance in Wesley's 42-34 win over Westminster on Saturday in the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Clayton Chapman Bowl.
Senior quarterback Khaaliq Burroughs collected the NJAC Offensive Player of the Week award after accounting for five touchdowns and being named the MVP of the ECAC Bowl. He completed 18-of-27 passes for 219 yards and two touchdowns. He also was a factor in the run game by gaining 51 yards on 10 carries with three rushing touchdowns.
It is the second NJAC weekly award of the season after being named Offensive Player of the Week on Sept. 16.
Junior kicker/punter Nick Bruhn was tabbed as the NJAC Special Teams Player of the Week. Bruhn went a perfect 6-for-6 in point-after attempts. He was also a factor in the punting game after averaging 37.0 per punt.
Freshman linebacker Jalund Johnson earned NJAC Defensive Player of the Week honors after garnering a career-high 10 tackles in the comeback victory. He was one of four different Wolverines to register double-digit tackles.
