Wesley Picks Up Third Straight Win at Endicott

BEVERLY, Ma. - No. 15 Wesley headed to Beverly Massachusetts to take on Endicott College in their third game of the 2019 Season and came out with the win.

Today's game, which was the first-ever meeting between Endicott and Wesley, featured a tale of two halves as the Gulls raced out to a commanding 17-0 advantage at halftime. From there, the Wolverines chipped away in the second stanza with six points in the third and 14 more in the fourth to complete the comeback victory and remain undefeated on the season at 3-0.

The first half started out quick for Endicott on a 12-play, 71-yard scoring drive (4:44), which was capped by Dylan Bonfilio a four-yard rushing touchdown to take the lead 7-0.

Endicott also saw Riley Shanley haul in a three-yard touchdown pass from Bonifilio in the first (1:10) and Nick DiCairano add a 27-yard field goal with no time remaining in the second to claim its 17-0 lead at the break.

Endicott's defense limited the Wolverines to 116 yards on 26 plays and held to a 2-of-6 showing on third down conversions in the first half.

Things heated up for the Wolverines in the second half with a 23-yard TD catch by Ruhann Peele at 12:15, in the third quarter.

The Wolverines then made it a three-point game (17-14) at 8:41 of the fourth on a 10-yard TD catch from Mike Credle, and a successful two-point conversion before, Nick Bruhn buried a 23-yard field goal to tie the game 17-17. Bruhn later got the game winning field goal to cap off the 20-17 win.

 "It took us a while to get going, but our team showed the same poise and perserverance of many great Wesley teams from the past. We never panicked and we always felt like we could win the game. This game was gives us valuable experience as we move forward into our New Jersey Athletic Conference (NJAC) play".

The Wolverines are back in action on Saturday October 5th for their first home game of the season and first game of conference play, as they take on Rowan. Kickoff is slated to start at 1:00 p.m.
