Dover, Del. - The Wesley College Football team finished out their regular season with a win on Senior Day against the Christopher Newport Captains, 42-7.
Wesley's Jon Mullin found Ruhann Peele on a 50-yard pass for the first touchdown of the game. Extra point was good by Nick Bruhn, 7-0.
The Wolverines would score again on their next possession. This time Mullin found Marcellus Pack on a 13-yard pass (extra point good by Bruhn) to bring the score 14-0 going into the second quarter.
Corterris Simpson scored the next touchdown in the second quarter on a 16-yard pass to bring the score 21-0.
Freshman Drew Fry made his first collegiate appearance in the game, as he looked to Simpson for a 59-yard pass, but the play resulted in no touchdown to end the first half of the game 21-0 Wesley.
Christopher Newport ended the third quarter at the Wesley one-yard line. On the first play of the fourth quarter, the CNU offense was able to push through the Wolverine defense to score their first touchdown of the day, 21-7.
Fry pulled off two more touchdown passes in the fourth quarter. The first touchdown was by Simpson on a 20-yard pass. Simpson would score again on a 49-yard pass to bring the score to 35-7.
The Wolverines scored one last time on a two-yard rush by Markquise Normand-Dunn, extra point by Bruhn was good, for a Wolverine win, 42-7.
Jon Mullin went 6-11 for 137 yards and three touchdowns. Drew Fry went 8-10 for 192 yards and two touchdowns.
Marcellus Pack led the rushing attack with 22 attempts for 112 yards. Corterris Simpson went 5 for 162 receiving yards and 3 touchdowns.
Sophomore Mike Brewer had himself a day as he racked up five solo tackles and three assists for a total of eight tackles. He also had one sack for 10 yards, 1.5 tackles for loss for 10 yards and one forced fumble.
