DOVER, Del. - Wesley College got first half goal from Sheree Pleasanton and Brooke Tadlock and the defense made them stand in the second half for a 2-1 win over visiting Stevenson in CAC action.
Wesley (8-5, 2-3 CAC) scored quickly behind Sheree Pleasanton's (Smyrna, Del.) seventh goal of the season at 2:56 cleaning up a rebound of a shot by Ashley Kisner (Duncannon, Pa.).
The Wolverines stretched the lead just over six minutes later when Brooke Tadlock dribbled in after a penalty corner for her 14th tally of 2008 at 9:09.
Stevenson (6-8, 2-3 CAC) had few chances on the evening as the Wolverines held their opponents to just nine shots in the game. The Mustangs cut the lead in half on a score by Krissy Leventis, but with just two seconds remaining leaving no time to tie the game.
Sarah Johnson (Honeybrook, Pa.) made three saves for Wesley. One of which came on a penalty stroke by the Mustangs' Cat Connelly in the second half.
Kara Zimmerman stopped seven Wesley shots.
The Wolverines will carry a three-match win streak into a season ending four-match road trip that begins on Friday, October 10 with at Mary Washington.
