Wesley Honored by NFHCA

GLEN ALLEN, Va. - Wesley College won an Academic Team Award from the National Field Hockey Coaches Association and three Wolverine student-athletes were named to the NFHCA National Academic Squad.
Brooke Tadlock (Middletown, Del./Middletown), Dana Keller (Dover, Del./Dover) and Amanda Fisher (Felton, Del./Lake Forest) were named to the Division III National Academic Squad. The National Academic Squad recognizes those student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative GPA of 3.30 or higher through the first semester of the 2008-09 academic year.
Both Tadlock and Fisher were named to the All-Capital Athletic Conference team for their play on the field after the season.
Tadlock, also an all-region selection in 2008, tied for first in the CAC with 38 points and led the circuit with 2.11 points per game. Tadlock tied for first in goals per game at 0.94, while her 17 total goals tied for second. She also finished tied for eighth in both assists and assists per game, while winning the conference player of the week award three times. In just two seasons, Tadlock already ranks seventh all-time at Wesley with 26 goals and eighth with 60 points.
Fisher, a junior, tallied a pair of assists on the season while aiding the Wolverines in both the midfield and on defense.
Keller, a freshman back, made nine appearances and started in a 2-1 CAC win over Stevenson.
The NFHCA recognized 102 NCAA Division III teams for academic success during the Fall 2008 semester. Each team honored compiled a 3.00 or better composite team grade point average.
Five other CAC field hockey teams also earned team awards: Hood College, Salisbury University, St. Mary's College of Md., Stevenson University and York College of Pa.
Wesley won at least 11 games for the 12th straight season in 2008.
