BETHLEHEM, Pa. - A goal by Wesley College's Madison Leone (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) in the 70th minute broke a scoreless tie and lifted the Wolverines to a 1-0 win over Moravian in non-conference field hockey.
Neither team scored through the first half and the game appeared headed to overtime before Leone found the back of the cage for her 12th score of the year.
Elizabeth Groom (Bear, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) made two saves in the first half, while Amanda Hudson (Frederica, Del./St. Thomas More) stopped one shot in the second half.
Andrea Eck made nine saves in the losing effort for the Greyhounds.
The Wolverines outshot Moravian 16-7 and had a 10-3 advantage on penalty corners.
Wesley hosts Stevenson on October 16.
