DOVER, Del. - All three of Wesley College's seniors had points as the Wolverines picked up a 3-0 win over visiting Immaculata on Senior Night in non-conference field hockey action.
Abigail Hill (Dover, Del./Lake Forest) scored a goal, while both Sheree Pleasanton (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) and Dana Keller (Dover, Del./Dover) had assists after they were honored in a pregame ceremony.
Madison Leone (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) gave Wesley a 1-0 lead midway through the 15th minute when she swept a ball in a scrum in front of the cage and it popped up over the keeper.
Less than two minutes into the second half, Pleasanton sent a corner to Leone, who touched it to Hill for a two-goal lead for the Wolverines.
Wesley iced the game when Keller sent a hard cross to the left side of the cage that Gracie Daniels (Princess Anne, Md./Washington) redirected in for the goal.
Elizabeth Groom (Bear, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) had two saves in the first half for Wesley, while Amanda Hudson (Frederica, Del./St. Thomas More) went untested in the second half. Alyssa Martin (Delmar, Del./Delmar) had a defensive save.
Natalie Slezak stopped a dozen shots for the Mighty Macs, while Bridget McMenamin notched a defensive save.
Wesley outshot Immaculata 23-5 in the contest and the Wolverines' 10 corners were twice as many as the Mighty Macs were awarded.
Wesley will be the No. 2 seed in the upcoming Capital Athletic Conference Championships and will host the winner of the Mary Washington/Stevenson first round game in a semifinal match on November 2.
