Four Named to All-CAC Team

YORK, Pa. - Wesley College placed four student-athletes on the All-Capital Athletic Conference Field Hockey Teams as announced by the conference office.

Senior Sheree Pleasanton (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) and sophomore Madison Leone (Dover, Del./Caesar Rodney) earned first team honors, while Dana Keller (Dover, Del./Dover) and Elizabeth Groom (Bear, Del./Hodgson Vo-Tech) were voted to the second team.

Pleasanton, who was named to the second team a year ago, closed her career with 31 goals, 16 assists and 78 points to rank seventh, 10th and seventh all-time at Wesley, respectively. In 2011, she had nine goals and nine assists for 27 points.  Her assist total tied for fifth in the CAC.

Leone maked the first team for the second straight year.  Her 18 goals tied for third in the conference, while her 43 points tied for fourth.  After just two seasons, she already ranks fifth all-time at Wesley in both goals (39) and points (93).

Both Keller and Groom earned their first career all-conference honors.

Keller, a senior, finished second in the conference with nine defensive saves and picked up her first two career points.  She ended her career with 27 career defensive saves.

A junior, Groom was in her first season as the Wolverines' starting goalkeeper.  She amassed 104 saves, a 2.33 goals against average and a .748 save percentage.

The quartet helped Wesley to its second straight appearance in the CAC Championship Game and a trip to the ECAC Mid-Atlantic Tournament.
