Huntingdon, Pa. – The Wesley College women's field hockey team fell in their season opener to Juniata in hard fought 4-2 game at Knox Stadium.

A goal in the fifth minute by Juniata's Emma Dahmus did not lend to a great start for Wesley. Dahmus went for two more goals for a first half hat trick.  Wesley's Rachel Joyner made her mark by scoring in the final minutes of the first half to narrow Juniata's lead to only two goals.

The Wesley women pieced together a good second half, holding Juniata to only 2 shots while taking 7 shots themselves. Kristen Ward put one of those shots in the back of the net thanks to an assist by Lauren Mears.

Shelby Miller had 0 saves and the win, while Sarah Daniels had 3 saves for Wesley

The Wolverines will play Wooster tomorrow at 2:00 pm for the conclusion of the Juniata Tournament.
