Field Hockey Falls at Haverford

HAVERFORD, Pa. – Wesley College's field hockey team fell to Haverford College, 3-1, on Wednesday night.  The Wolverines fall to 3-3 on the year while the Fords improve to 2-1.

Haverford scored a pair of goals just three minutes apart midway through the first half and the two goal lead is what it took into the break.

On a penalty corner in the 49th minute, Wesley cut the lead in half when Lauren Mears beat HC goalkeeper Lindsey Lopes.  Assisting on the play was Madison Leone and Lauren Niezgoda.

However, just two minutes later, the Fords got an insurance goal and Wesley was unable to answer back.

Sarah Daniels made four saves in goal for the Wolverines, who also got a defensive save by Brooke Gannon.

This coming Saturday, Wesley hosts Lynchburg in a 12 pm start.
