YORK, Pa. – Wesley College's Madison Leone has been named a Synapse Sports/WomensFieldHockey.com Second Team All-American, it was announced by the organization over the weekend. This is the second-straight year that Leone was named an All-American by the organization after also receiving Second Team recognition in 2012. Leone is the first repeat All-America selection in program history.
A native of Dover, Del., Leone repeated as the Capital Athletic Conference Co-Player of the Year after leading the Wolverines in every offensive category with 12 goals, eight assists, 32 points and four game-winning goals despite missing the first three games due to injury. All three of her rankings ranked in the top five in the CAC. Leone was chosen to play in the Front Rush/NFHCA Division III Senior Game in late November and ranks second in Wesley history in goals (71), assists (30) and points (172), all of which rank in the top five in CAC history as well.
The Wolverines finished the season with a 9-11 overall record and advanced to the CAC Semifinals where they took No.3 Christopher Newport into overtime before falling, 2-1.
