CHANDLER, Ariz. – Wesley College's field hockey team has been award the 2013 Gladiator by SGI / NFHCA Division III National Academic Team Award, it was announced on Wednesday afternoon. Additionally, eight Wolverines have been named to the National Academic Squad. To qualify for the team award, the entire squad must have accumulated at least a 3.0 grade-point-average for the Fall 2013 semester, while individuals with at least a 3.3 in the Fall 2013 semester were named to the Academic Squad.
Those student-athletes who received Academic Squad honors were freshmen Beccah Clifton, junior Brooke Gannon, junior Tenaj Moody, freshman Allison Perugini, sophomore Renee Schneider, sophomore Morgan Seymour, freshman Lindsay Siok and freshman Alora Wilson.
The Wolverines were one of five Capital Athletic Conference schools to receive the Team Award, along with Christopher Newport, Salisbury, St. Mary's and York (Pa.)
