Field Hockey falls to Elizabethtown

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College women's field hockey team fell to the Elizabethtown Blue Jays 2-1 in a hard fought battle on Thursday evening. The Wolverines fall to 5-3 on the season while the Aggies advance to 4-4.

Wesley fell behind in the 19th minute when Emma Christman hit the ball off of the goal post, teammate Jacki Hikes was right there to score the first goal of the game. The second goal of the game came from Morgan Gannon. Gannon found her second goal of the season after a scrum in front of the goal that she managed to put away.

Unfortunately for the Wolverines, Hikes scored the game winner with just five minutes left in the game.

Sarah Daniels takes the loss, with seven saves for the Wolverines, while Selene Jones took the win with one save in the match.

The Wolverines return to the pitch on Sunday, September 28 at 12:00 PM for a home game against Haverford.
