Wesley Stopped by Rowan

GLASSBORO, N.J. - The Wesley College Field Hockey team traveled through the rain to New Jersey where the Wolverines fell to Rowan University 5-0 on Wednesday night.

Makenzie McIntyre made her first career start in goal, making two saves and allowing a pair of goals through the first 35:00. Bridget Wood played 25 minutes of the second half allowing three goals and making three saves. Sydney Stump played the final 10 minutes and stopped the only shot she faced. Morgan Seymour tallied her ninth defensive save of the season, the most in the Capital Athletic Conference.

Wesley managed three penalty corners, with all of them coming in the second half. The Wolverines offense registered just two shots on goal, one from Kelsey Fromal and one from Lauren Niezgoda

Fromal's shot came in the 22nd minute when the forward gathered a pass and ripped a chance goalward. Niezgoda's attempt came off of a penalty corner set play in the second half. The senior inserted the ball, received a pass back on the near post and clipped a shot but it found pads and was turned away.

The Wolverines move to 1-9 on the season and will face York College in their Capital Athletic Conference opener on Saturday afternoon.
