DOVER, Del. - After leading the Wesley College Field Hockey team to a pair of wins last week, freshman goalkeeper Makenzie McIntyre was named ECAC South Region Rookie of the Week.
McIntyre played 105:00 in goal this week, helping the Wolverines to a 2-0 record. The freshman made seven saves in the second half of the Wolverines' 4-2 win over Virginia Wesleyan to help the team preserve the victory. Against Frostburg State, McIntyre was flawless, earning her first career shutout with seven saves. The freshman's performance helped the Wolverines garner their first win against a Capital Athletic Conference opponent since 2014.
Wesley looks to continue their winning streak when they take on Shenandoah University in Virginia on Tuesday afternoon.
