Wesley Extends Win Streak with 1-0 Victory at Shenandoah

WINCHESTER, Va. - The Wesley College Field Hockey team extended their winning streak to three straight, downing the Shenandoah University Hornets 1-0 on Tuesday afternoon in Winchester, Va.

Lauren Niezgoda netted the lone goal of the game, while Kelsey Fromal earned an assist. Makenzie McIntyre recorded her second consecutive shutout and Morgan Seymour increased her defensive saves tally to 16 on the season with three in the game.

In the 54th minute of the game, Niezgoda inserted a penalty corner to Isabella Lucia at the top of the arc. The senior fired in a short that was stopped in front by Fromal, who then dished back to Niezgoda for the finish. The goal put Wesley ahead with just over 20 minutes to play. McIntyre, Seymour and the Wesley defense held onto the slim lead to shutout the Hornets and earn the 1-0 victory.

Wesley improves to 4-11 on the season and will look to continue their momentum when they take on Friday when they travel to conference foe Christopher Newport.
