YORK, Pa. - For the second consecutive week a Wesley College Field Hockey player was selected by the Capital Athletic Conference as Defensive Player of the Week. Senior defender Morgan Seymour earned the award this week.
Seymour was named the CAC Defensive Player of the Week after recording six defensive saves in a 2-1 week for the Wolverines. Against Shenandoah on Tuesday, Seymour made three crucial defensive saves to keep the Hornets out of the cage and help Wesley earn a 1-0 win. Against CNU, the senior added two more defensive saves. In Saturday's 5-0 win over Hendrix, Seymour added a defensive save, swatting a lifted ball out of the air before it found the net, and then dished off an assist later in the game. Seymour has recorded 19 defensive saves on the season, leading the CAC and the nation in the category.
Wesley will celebrate their senior night on Tuesday, October 18 against St. Mary's College.
