Wesley Field Hockey announces summer camp schedule

DOVER, Del. – The Wesley College field hockey team announced on Thursday their dates for their 2017 summer camps.

A goalkeeper clinic is scheduled for Sunday, May 21 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Drass Field at Scott D. Miller Stadium. The clinic is open for goalkeepers from grades 6-12 and costs $75 per camper.

On June 13-16, Wesley will hold their annual day camp at Drass Field. The camp is split into beginner and intermediate groups for ages 3-8 and 9-13. The day camp focuses on building skills, game knowledge and one-on-one skills. The cost of the day camp is $100 for all three days.

The summer camp then shifts to Middletown High School on June 26-28. The Middletown camp runs from June 26-28 for field hockey players set to begin their 7th-12th grade years in the fall. The camp will work on fundamental skills, game situations, stick work, communication, field balance and teamwork. The Middletown camp costs $100.

The summer field hockey camp slate wraps up with a Preseason Warm-up at Smyrna Middle School on July 31-Aug. 2. The camp starts with drills and then full-field scrimmages for the remainder of the camp. Players are encouraged to bring their teammates for the scrimmages. The Preseason Warm-up costs $100.
